Welcome from the Pastor

Dear Friends,

Welcome to our Parish website! Our Parish is greatly blessed to be under the patronage of one of the greatest Saints in the history of the Catholic Church, St. John Marie Baptiste Vianney. Often referred to as the Cure of Ars, he served as the parish priest (Cure) of that small Village for about 40 years (1818-1859). In that time he reconciled just about all of France back to God after the devastation of the French Revolution. He did it through his simplicity, his generosity, his love for Christ, his willingness to sit for 12-18 hours a day in the confessional, and his total trust in the assistance of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Though little in so many ways, he was really a giant of a man.

St. John Vianney provides the ultimate example of what our Church and world need right now. It needs renewal, conversion, mercy, charity, holiness and faith. It needs those things from and each and every one of us.

We have a wonderful parish that is dedicated to building a community in which these ideals are lived and experienced. I want all of you who read this greeting to know you are welcome with us! I hope you find what you are seeking at this website. And I hope you know that our community here at SJV is praying for you everyday.

If I can be of help to you personally, please feel free to email me at [email protected] or call me at 716-674-9133 anytime. Below is a prayer I wrote while during the 8 years I served as the pastor of St. Mary & St. Mark Parish in Orleans County. I now offer it every morning for ever member of our Parish community. Please say a prayer for me too!

Sincerely in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
Fr. Mark Noonan
