First Eucharist

The sacrament of First Communion is an important tradition for Catholic families and individuals. For Catholics, Holy Communion is the third of seven sacraments received. It occurs only after receiving Baptism, and once the person has reached the age of reason (usually, around the third grade). Generally, first confession (the first sacrament of penance) must precede the reception of the Eucharist.

Students receive their First Communion after attending a series of Sacramental Preparation classes and a First Communion Retreat.

Please contact the Office of Faith Formation at 674-9145 for more information.

Children who are preparing for First Communion must be registerred for faith formation. Information and dates for the 2021-2022 year are now available under the "Lifelong Faith Formation" tab.
