Bereavement Ministry

“Grief never ends… but it changes.  It’s a passage, not a place to stay.  Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of Faith…. It is the price of Love.  (author unknown)

St. John Vianney Bereavement Ministry is an initiative created by a group of parishioners who recognized a need for bereavement and grief support within our parish community.  It is not a counseling group, but an informal gathering bringing together those in our parish community who are dealing with the loss of a loved one and could use support through this difficult time.  We provide a gathering place for family and friends who are grieving a loss.

Each year the Bereavement Ministry offers:

  • A DVD presentation and discussion in Spring and Fall
  • Remembrance Mass in November
  • Dealing with Holiday Grief presentation in November
