1st Communion

First Holy Communion

The sacrament of First Communion is an important tradition for Catholic families and individuals. 1st Communion only occurs after receiving Baptism, and once the person has reached the age of reason (usually, around the third grade). Their First Confession must precede the reception of the Eucharist. They will have to be formed to be ready for each sacrament.

1st Communion preparation is woven into the 3rd Grade Faith Formation program. For those who have fallen behind, or who are just now inquiring, we will work to accomodate each person as much as possible and making sure that the children are formed to have an understanding of what they are receiving and to do so in the proper spirit.
