We will not be reading
a story from the Anthology this week. We will continue with
our book clubs. They are:
Across Five Aprils
The Report Card
We will be focusing
on the literary elements in these two stories. Each student
will make a literary element map for their story. Each map
will include characters, character traits, setting, situation,
problem, conflict, and resolution. When our stories are
complete, each group will create a large literary element poster
using their maps as a guide.
We will also be
writing a Reading Response Letter (RRL) for our read aloud story,
Where the Red Fern Grows. The RRL needs to include a
summary, a reaction to the story, and a connection to the story.
Do not forget to back up your thoughts with evidence from the story.
Use your example letter, guide, and rubric to help you.
