Middle States Accreditation

In 2001, St. John Vianney School was accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools joining those schools in the Diocese of Buffalo to achieve this prestigious designation.

This accreditation was the result of an intensive, year-long self-study process by the administration and faculty, and a detailed evaluation by a visiting team of independent experts in education. Click here to read the Chairperson's Overview, a summary of the final report written by the evaluation team. This accreditation acknowledged and reinforced that St. John Vianney School has met the rigorous standards required for providing a quality education:

  1. Defining appropriate educational goals and providing educational programs to achieve them.
  2. Maintaining a qualified faculty and an effective school organization.
  3. Assessing outcomes of school experiences and controlling the quality of educational programs.
  4. Responding to concerns of parents and needs of the school. community.
  5. Providing for the continuity of its programs and planning for their future.
  6. Describing with accuracy the content of its services and programs.

The resulting "action plan" that emerged from the accreditation process provides a roadmap for the ongoing improvement of the school's curriculum, programs and facilities.
